Pallas Athena

Pallas Athena and You

This is a collaborative effort, huge shout out to Aikaterine Kleisoteira for working with me on this!

There are several different myths of how Athena took on the epithet of Pallas-Athena.  I leaned more towards sharing this one. The myth states that Pallas was her childhood friend. They had an intense relationship, perhaps the only person Athena ever truly loved, whom she accidentally killed while playing. Filled with grief, Athena decided to carry on her lover and best friend’s name, placing it before her own.

Pallas-Athena is an asteroid located between Mars and Jupiter, bridging the gap between personal planets and the societal planets.  Which helps create a more conscious society.

Many Greek stories speak of her as having a dual-pivotal role addressing issues of gender altering, as well as sex roles. She is this feminine warrior energy who encourages this creative observation that’s universal, practical, and helps recognize pattern behaviors. Astrology also references Pallas-Athena with transparency, purity and social justice, often times standing up for both the feminine and masculine.

Your Birth Chart

Pallas-Athena, in the birth chart, reveals how you can figure things out through sensible reasoning and creative understanding, illuminating our genius qualities. All while showing you how to face the serious issues of healing, especially fear of success and competition, including political corruption. Some common placements may give insight of those relationships with our father, which is perfect timing with a lot of ancestral healing showing up for the masculine right now.

Pallas Athene’s Glyph represents her spear as the shape of a diamond, on top of a cross. This signifies her wisdom, associated with the snake and owl.

The Global Perspective

One of the many things I discuss about getting to know a planet, planetoid, or asteroid and how to connect or work with it is to research when it was found and what was happening in society during that time. Pallas Athene was discovered on March 28, 1802, by Wilhelm Olbers.

A few things going on in 1802:

  • The Industrial Revolution
  • Abolitionist Movement
  • Napoleonic Wars

While the “fathers” were raping and pillaging and taking – the weaving of communities, technological advances, human rights movements, and those who would assist strategic uprisings were making their way into the world and into societal consciousness. It is the power for the good of all, not for a few. But it is ongoing, to this day, by the way Athena guides us in relationships and ways of connection that serve a larger purpose.

This is War

It is, but it is not started with a sword. It is through wisdom and weaving. The strategy of this wisdom of Athena, that Hesiod described as “a woman, but as if she were a man”, comes from a historical pattern of the divine feminine wisdom being swallowed by men (such as when Zeus swallows a pregnant Metis), and yet from their very own brain is the next generation who shapeshift to power by using that wisdom to create unity and protection of all people (such as when Athena is born from Zeus’ head and becomes the Goddess of Athens).

It Continues

Over time, women and historically marginalized humans have gained freedoms and access enough to make their way into sectors reserved only for white men. We are seeing it play out globally now and we know that in order for us to move forward, we must be a unified front for change.  The rise of community, of rebellions that cause good trouble (but sometimes less good), and the shifts in consciousness occurring across the globe teach us that Athena is donning her helmet and so should we.  Together.
