There are numerous myths, conflations, and associations of Inanna widely available to review and research. With our searches and studies, we may also come across the experiences of those who have worked with or are actively working with Inanna.

In most cases, our research can allow us to gather information and insight that proves useful in our own relationships to the various facets of the Goddess. This month, however, we find the Goddess we are through our own personal gnosis and unbecoming with Inanna!

The Goddess Face
In ancient magical practices, such as from the PGM, the ‘God Face’ we bring forward is another way of showing connectedness to that which is divine. It means we have a spark, a universal connection to all, even if we are a different “flavor” of the facet of the Goddess.
This duality isn’t hard to grasp if we think about Inanna (and many, many other Goddesses) who is known for fecundity but also described as devouring.

Laying Bare
Inanna goes on an underworld journey where she is stripped bare of what she is not by her sister, Ereshkigal. Where we stand now, we often find strength, magic, and power through stripping away what we are not as well. It allows a personal gnosis of Inanna and ourselves (Goddess Face) in a profound way. Ready to lay bare?

The Burn Zine
As one begins this journey, it’s necessary to reflect and go deeply beyond the comfort zone. Grab a few sheets of paper and fold them in half. At the crease of the fold, one can use staples, cut holes and use thread or ribbon, or any number of techniques to transform it into a miniature magazine.
While doing this, think about the following:
- What does ‘unbecoming’ mean to you?
- What are you aware of about yourself that is in direct conflict with your personal truth?
- What do you wish to relinquish or offer up to Inanna that will allow your power to rise higher?

This process allows for an expansion in awareness. It creates a space of honesty and truthfulness without judgement or criticism.
The Pages
On each page of The Burn Zine, write out any identified places that you wish to offer up to Inanna as we walk through gates with her. Take up as much space as you need to. Add to the pages any colors, drawings, stickers, or sigils that portray how you perceive this offering as it is within you. Then perhaps forage or research herbs and plants of releasing. Add them between the pages. When you’re ready, seal the Burn Zine shut and place it upon an altar that is bare (for now!).
