This beautiful Oil of Inanna comes to us from Tania at Howling Baubo!
In creating this oil I spent time connecting to Inanna through her myriad of stories, music, and poetic hymns. I sat with how I personally perceive her energy and created a list of herbs I felt would match and compliment what I was perceiving. After a few shifts and tweaks I have concocted an oil I feel will help connect, release, reclaim and integrate the spirit and energy of Inanna, Queen of Heaven and Earth.

Ingredients
- Base oil : Coconut
- Mandrake Root
- Cinnamon (I used a stick but use what you have)
- Hibiscus (fun fact that Hibiscus is also known as China Rose)
- Rose
- Dittany
- Jasmine
With this combo there is a big pull towards embracing our personal power, enhancing our passions, rooting us in our authority with strength and action. Claiming our sexual energies, releasing all that is holding us back, banishing what is harmful and claiming our lost soul shards back with gentility.

The Base
For the base oil I settled on coconut (although if you use Olive Oil that will be just fine). Ideally I would have loved to use a rose or rosehip oil, but that wasn’t in my arsenal so I had to improvise. Coconut it is, and I’m pretty happy with it. The really cool thing about coconut, that I feel adds a layer to Inanna, is that the coconut tree produces both male and female flowers on the same tree, at times both male and female reproductive organs can be found on the same flower. I find this very fitting for Inanna who is known for having the power to change men to women and women to men. She herself claims both masculine and feminine characteristics.
Keep in mind I share this as a guideline, so use your own discernment and tweak as you see fit. I don’t have any measurements because I believe it’s up to each individual to feel into how much of each they need to add.
Since it’s cool in Ohio I had to heat the coconut oil to its melting point. From there I began the process of adding the chosen herbs. I used a double boiler and placed my jar on the top. I added the Mandrake root and let that have a little extra time to simmer and release.

Next Steps
Then I added the rest of the herbs, one by one, connecting to each as we went along. After everything was added I moved the jar to a small Pyrex dish and kept it in a hot water bath covered with a tea towel for the rest of the evening, refreshing the hot water as needed. I find this way works best for me personally because my brain will forget about it if I leave it on the stove and this method removes the fear that I will overheat it while providing the right amount of gentle heat to coax the herbs into releasing their magic.
But Wait, There’s More
There is another element to this oil that you need to be aware of. It’s not finished. We will be adding the final ingredient in December. As you spend time with Inanna and her energetic signature chose the final ingredient that calls to you and when the time comes Kaycee will let us all know when to add it.

I’m personally leaning towards poppy or possibly thyme but I’m going to leave it open incase something else comes through for me while we embrace this lovely Lioness. Angelica would be fabulous, it might have made the cut had I had any on hand. Just know that one more herb will be added.
Have fun creating your oil!
