As a part of our work with Demeter in October 2023, I created a blend to call in the energy of change. Demeter represents the power of cycles of change. This blend was created to find a type of homeostasis as the energy begins to turn inward. She beckons us to lift our own veil and reimagine where we stand in the center as ALL.
What you’ll need:
- Rose (dried petals or oil)
- Mugwort (dried herb) – Clairvoyance, Dreamwork
- Myrrh (resin)
- Patchouli (dried herb or oil)
- Mortar and pestle
- A jar to store it in
Demeter has zodiacal associations to Virgo and Cancer, but planetary alignments are also Earth and Saturn. I felt deeply into this and something that came up quickly was the use of Peppermint. It added an energy that I think increases our ability to find the edges we need to look at again. Feel into what you have, research, and see if you have something that will complement your ability to turn inward and find the edges of your own veil.
As a side note, with all herbs, take all proper precautions if you have allergies, are pregnant/may become pregnant, or take medications (consult your doctor).
Directions:
Measure with your heart. No really. Take each herb or oil and spend a moment with it. I noticed right away Myrrh wanted in immediately. Myrrh went into the mortar and pestle first and then Mugwort. Continue to add in your ingredients and the amounts that you feel led to add. Play with this a little, using all your senses, and you are going to end up with the perfect blend for yourself.
Once you are done adding, begin to grind and mix in your mortar and pestle until it reaches the consistency you desire. Place it in the jar you chose for storage.
Use:
Burn* a little every day in a fire safe container to get yourself into the space while also using your Black Sacred Candle. If you are unable to burn your incense, put some in a little dish on an altar that is out of reach of children and pets and visit it each day for a few minutes. Call to Demeter, ask her to reveal what is meant for you during the turn inward.
