Connecting to Asteria provides a depth of insight into our own bones, blessings, and boundaries. I’m often inspired by others within the collective who are so giving of their experiences that they allow me to share and allow me to have a wild curiosity to find the depths of connection within those experiences.
Rayne’s Connection
In connecting with Asteria, I feel a deep connection with the earth and stars at the same time.
She connects me to the Earth fully. I feel she gives me a deep grounding effect while simultaneously stretching my spirit to communicate with the stars. I live so much in the element of fire and air a lot of the time, so I notice when I am grounded much more. She does that for me! The groundedness within my energy and home environment is where I begin. I am deep cleaning and decorating at the same time. Making sure that the energies are flowing for abundance and cheer!
She has come through the stars deeply as well. In my beliefs, my ancestors live amidst the stars with all the ascended masters and spirits of the galaxy. I feel her almost as a messenger from them to me here on Earth. My dream time has been abundant and enlightening!
On the dark moon, I was inspired to brew up some magic in my crockpot to offer her, the mother of Hekate, as well as Persephone, Demeter, and Hekate.
Simmer Pot
Here is my simmer pot recipe, so you can use the stove or crock pot. What ever you have will work. I used the crock pot because I wanted it to stay hot, but also be able to leave the house without the stove on. Water should fill the pot to simmer for as long as you would like.
Add: how ever much you feel is right.
Say: what ever words come to mind.
Feel free to add or leave out any element that you may not feel guided to use. It should be specific to your intentions of course!
I used:
- Plant Spirits:
- Nutmeg- Earth and grounding
- Cinnamon- Fire and abundance
- Star anise- Air and Asteria
- Mugwort- Earth and Demeter
- Bay – Air and Hekate
- Basil – Water and love
- Rosemary- Protection and ancestors
- Apple – Love and Harvesting
- Orange- Helios the Sun for warmth
- Lemon – cleansing and detoxification
- Pomegranate – Persephone and blood cleansing
- Ginger – grounding and flexibility
- Stone Spirits
- Smoky quartz – visions and dreams
- Rose quartz- self care and love
- Blood stone – cleansing the blood and system
- Brown agate – groundedness
- Jet – protection and clarity
I then took a piece of paper and drew a sigil that came forward from Asteria and put the glyphs from full moon to full moon to represent this cycle.
On the same piece of paper I added gratitude and prayers to be received. I also asked my son to do this.
We placed our papers into the pot and each time we would come by it in the kitchen we would stir it asking the Goddess to receive our veneration and prayers.
The smell permeated the house and blessed us! I kept it going about 24 hours. It’s been so nice. I will let it dry out a bit and place it in my fire pit to burn on the full moon.

Sandi’s Divination
Asteria is a multi faceted Titaness – known as the Goddess of the stars (aster being the proto-indo-European root for the word star) and prophecy by dreams (oneiromancy). She is strength, determination, perseverance, will and familial love. Getting to know her stories and lore allowed me to create this divination that yielded a connection from her to myself. If we’re all made of the same star dust it makes sense to harness this connection where possible: deep in our bones.
- You in this moment
- What is “chasing” you? Harassing you?
- What needs change/boundaries or ways of transforming to stop the chase?
- What will allow the depths of required change? Do you love yourself enough? Willing to do??
And some Journaling:
- What emotion/feeling is so strong right now that you feel harassed or chased by it/them?
- What changes do you think you are strong enough to make? What boundaries can you make strong enough to stop the harassment/chase?
- What are you willing to do, change or give up to stop the harassment/chase permanently?
- Do you love yourself enough to allow others( family, sister circle, professional) to help you stabilize/integrate and be the you that you are now?
GreyRabbit’s Artful Connection
One of our resident artists within the community reached out about connecting to Asteria, finding the artistic balance of roots but also an island. Boundaries and the boundary-less. Of a place that is home and a place that is transformative. I believe GreyRabbit found it in the most unique way and I was given permission to share. While it was originally to be a part of the anthology, the desire to connect in ways that may seem unconnected made it impossible to wait! “Home is wherever you hang your broom or birth your Gods…” is truly perfection.
The Blessings
I am honored and grateful for the blessings we find within the space of community and the sacred connections we weave together. While the magic we hold is unique as is our connection to that which we hold sacred, our ability to find the woven threads is abundance at its finest.
