Asteria is a pretty well-known goddess (as the mother of the Queen of Witches and all) and she who is among the stars. Sometimes conflated with Nyx, it is not surprising to learn that she is also a prophetess one who works with dreams and the dream time. As such, we can connect with her power of prophecy by utilizing the spirits of plants and our Black Sacred Candle.

Methods of Crafting
Methods of crafting blends are often unique to the practitioner. What works well for one may not carry the same potency for another. One may prefer a decoction while another is dreaming with eyes open by using a salve.
Just like the practice of witchcraft, there is no one right way!
The plant spirits utilized in this blend are multifunctional and can be utilized as a tea, an addition to your bath, an incense, a salve, or even an oil! Regardless of the chosen methodology of crafting and usage, the importance of connecting to the plants and Asteria simultaneously should not be overlooked. It allows the practitioner to shift consciousness and increase the capacity for prophecy, dreaming, clarity, and brings unique information into conscious awareness.

Ingredients
- Frankincense (Resin)
- Myrrh (Resin)
- Star Anise (Dried)
- Mugwort (Dried leaves)
- Sage (Dried leaves)
- Lavender (Dried buds/flowers)
Directions
There are some overall directions to keep in mind for any method a practitioner wishes to utilize:
- These plant spirits carry potent medicine. Research, care, and personal discernment with regard to safety and applications are required. **Do not use essential oils.**
- Aside from connecting to the energetic properties and signatures of these spirits, practitioners must break them down to allow physical properties to be released into the medium of choice. This is also for safety, especially fire safety!
- One may use a mortar and pestle, a food processor, or other chopping device to ensure the cell walls are broken down to release these properties.

Method: Incense
To create an incense, blend finely, mix the plant spirits together, and place a small amount upon a 1/4 of a charcoal disk. You can also use a small amount of water and shape into cones (allow to dry fully before use).
Method: Tea
I prefer very small batch in this method. 1 tsp of each of the plant spirits to 2 cups of water in a small pot. Cover with a lid and heat on low for a few hours. This will be concentrated. Let the pot cool, strain into a glass jar, and place into the refrigerator. To consume mix 2 parts water with 1 part concentrate. For a bath tea, I would start with one cup added to my hot bath.

Method: Salve
To create a salve, I used low heat with a small amount of olive oil, double coconut oil, ghee, and beeswax as the medium. Think of the ratio as 1:2:1:1. I added the plant spirits and stirred/agitated the spirits with a wooden spoon until the medium ingredients melted and mixed well plus an additional hour (again, low heat, no boiling). I let it cool slightly and strain into a small jar. It will solidify more as it cools. Keep the plant spirits nearby just in case the salve doesn’t solidify to the degree desired. It can always go back in the pan with a little more beeswax to try again!
To create an oil, simply use olive oil as the medium and follow the same process above!

Enjoy!
