This Hygeia charm came to me courtesy of a dream in which I was throwing a carefully curated set upon a mat. Creating a tile or charm to a Goddess is just one of many ways to invoke the energy or add to a divination set you craft yourself! Whether you utilize sigils, dried plant material, oils, or specific shapes the nature of the finished product has the spark of divinity in it. Let us dive into materials, best practices, activation, and ideas for your tile!

Materials

  • Polymer clay
  • Aluminum foil if baking
  • Your Black Sacred Candle if you use one
  • Candle scribe or toothpick
  • Any of the following you may desire:
  • Shaping tools
  • Paints
  • Oils
  • Markers
  • Plant material
  • Incense or other offering to Hygeia

Best Practices

The amazing part of being a witch is that there is no one right way. We take what works, what connects us deeply, and we discard the rest. It is the same with the best practices listed below. If there is something new, however, I encourage a bit of curiosity.

I often find new ideas or ways or doing something as an opportunity to grow and expand the gifts I hold.

The Space of Creation

Setting the space for that of creation and connecting is an intentional practice of what one holds sacred. If this is a tile to honor Hygeia it may be worthwhile to clear off the workspace, lay out the materials and tools, cleanse the space, bless it with a bit of incense, and light the candle meant for her.

I love functional and meaningful tools, like the Black Sacred Candle. It cleanses and blesses the space by design, energetically casting the space as sacred and protected with the elements!

If this is to be a charm used in a divination set, one may wish to add a petition into the space for what this tool is to ultimately be empowered with.

Methods of Connection

Connecting can be done in many ways but there is a deeper reason for bringing this up. It is important to recognize the difference between the motions and actual connections. In The Sacred Essence course, this is a part of understanding the space between resistance and resonance. The power to connect and resonate with an energy while holding it and allowing it to flow through us into a form (like a tile or charm) is potent magic. What does is take to get you there, in the space of connection?

Listen to Kaycee discuss the importance of connecting and a few methodologies here:

Activation

Activating something for magical use is to awaken the energy and purpose of the tool. This requires intention and a deep awareness of what is being “turned on”. How this is done is ultimately up to the practitioner of magic, but here is one idea:

Write the magic and purpose of the tool on paper, seal it with a thumb print or drop of blood as you speak the words out loud, then burn it. Once the ash has cooled, place the ash in a dark cloth with the tool and leave it until the next moon phase or astrological timing that seems appropriate.

Ideas for Hygeia

Hygeia has symbols and a parental lineage. After researching, set the space and begin to connect with her. Anyone who has used polymer clay understands it must be warmed up to become pliable. I utilize this time to pace, breathe, and shift consciousness to connect to her. It is here that the awareness of specifics related to my tool will arrive.

This process may look completely different for you. Maybe you need to chant, utilize music or frequency, or even lay down! Again, there is no one right way.

Shaping the Form

This is a tool to be used by you. With that in mind, it can take many shapes, many forms, and have many pieces! Take your time, enjoy the flow of connection, and the collaborative efforts of all the energies that you may be building it with (the deity or deities, colors, plant spirits, animal spirits, stone spirits, etc.).

After the form is shaped and created, I wrapped it up and placed in the oven wrapped for 3 hours. Once it finished baking and cooled down, I added some additional (for my eyes only) energetic sources and will activate it on my solar return!
