Much of what is known about Hygeia, healing, and her ancient relics comes from stories and art. When I think back to her initial appearance within Dark Goddess Collective, I didn’t enjoy the uncomfortableness that came with her. I wanted to move forward, clear the fogginess that had been the last few months, and get out of the grip of melancholy that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. Though kind, Hygeia prepared me to do all those things by sitting in the stagnant waters. She initiated a wave of change, of inner alchemy, and utilized plant spirits within water to do so.
If you have felt the waves wash over you and are ready to go deeper with the power of healing, keep reading!

Creating Your Elixir
Supplies:
- Bay Leaves
- Butterfly Pea Flowers
- Blue Lotus Petals
- Small pan and heat source (or one may use a kettle)
- Mason Jar or glass with lid
- Bowl
- Epsom Salt
- Water
- Black Sacred Candle

Directions:
- Clean and clear the space you will be utilizing while crafting your elixir (or light your Black Sacred Candle, allowing it to create the space for you).
- Bring water to just below boiling in the pan as you gather ¼ cup of each into your glass or Mason Jar:
- Butterfly Pea Flowers
- Blue Lotus Petals
- Remove the water from the heat source and pour into your glass or Mason jar.
- As you are pouring, chant to them: “Convergence of the Rivers and Seas, The Sacred Herbs of my own River Lethe, Renewal by Serpent’s skin shed, Birthing waters heal that which is dead. I call it Sacred through Hygeia (x3)”
- Put the mason jar lid just on top to keep the oils and steam in the container.
- Once the liquid has cooled, screw the top on and shake or use a wooden spoon to agitate the herbs a little to ensure the healing constituents come out in the water a little more.
- Grab the bowl and fill it with:
- a cup of Epsom salt.
- 3-5 bay leaves
The Ritual Bath
Once the Elixir is prepared and the bowl is ready, it is time to utilize the bath. This can be a full bath or a foot bath. As the water is filling the bath of choice (make sure it is quite warm), add in the Epsom salt and Bay leaves. Then add in the Elixir (use the lid as a strainer if you don’t wish to add the plant material). Swirl with your hand and step in.
