A Call to Aphrodite

Within Dark Goddess Collective, we’ve been discussing the power of names. Many practitioners of magic believe that if you have someone’s or something’s true name that one holds power over its essence. Others believe it houses the vibrational essence of someone or something.

Ancient Magic

What I adore about ancient magic is that the techniques used are still valid even when they are modernized for our purpose. The PGM, for example, is very much magic that is still in use today. Especially in my own practice.

Note: the power of naming our teachers is important, we never know who needs the teacher and we never know who needs the student. For the PGM, my teacher is Jack Grayle.

Within the PGM (I use the Betz version), there is a spell that includes Aphrodite’s real name. Simple love spell, but capturing a name from 2000 years, and using it to call her in over your Black Sacred Candle or incense has a powerful impact.

Found on DeviantArt here.

Across Time & Space

This spell is located in PGM IV 1265-1274 (page 62 in Betz). The great part of saying this name aloud is that it reverberates, through time and space, and allows us to remember or recognize our own power to call forth that which we desire. Our own golden apples of abundance, beauty, love, and relationship. It’s the perfect time to use it, create relationship with Aphrodite, and do deep work with her on the next Full Moon!
